Now that the Jets have been officially eliminated from the playoffs, C-Mac doesn’t want to hear another word about Aaron Rodgers playing another snap for Gang Green this season.
“You can forget Rodgers playing the rest of this season. Obviously that’s over,” C-Mac said. “You cannot put him behind this offensive line.
“The Jets would be so freaking stupid to even consider playing him, and he would be so selfish to try and prove to whoever he wants to prove to that this surgery is a success, his regime is a success, his diet is a success, all the nonsense we heard about for weeks.”
Rodgers had hinted that a potential unprecedented return from Achilles surgery in September would be partially reliant on the Jets still being alive in the playoff hunt. That is no longer the case after an embarrassing 30-0 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday, so C-Mac says any talk of Rodgers coming back this season needs to end.
“It no longer makes sense,” C-Mac said. “There’s no reason to play him. They won’t. So we can put that to bed.”
