C-Mac says Zach Wilson is ruining what was once a promising season for the Jets, and if he continues to be the starting quarterback, the negativity will infect the rest of the roster.
“They are putting him in a position to ruin the rest of the team,” C-Mac said. “I don’t care who you bring. Somebody, anybody who is available to play quarterback is better than Zach Wilson.
“I have no idea if Zach Wilson will always be this useless, but he is useless right now, and it is killing this football team.”
Still, Robert Saleh told reporters after Sunday’s loss that Wilson will remain the starter, which C-Mac says is an abomination that ownership should step in and address.
“It needs to end today. It’s over. It should have been over the minute they got Aaron Rodgers,” C-Mac said. “Watching him play football, it’s pathetic.
“You cannot go down with the Zach Wilson ship. You just can’t…if I’m Woody Johnson, if I’m anyone involved in this team. If I’m Saleh, I don’t care.
Your job is on the line…if Joe Douglas makes me start him, I’m benching him a series in. If I’m Woody Johnson and Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh don’t want to do it, I’m telling them they’re both fired unless someone else starts the game. He can’t start next week.”
