Despite how brutal this Jets season was, C-Mac believes Robert Saleh when he says the team is closer than many people may believe.
Mainly because of the quarterback expected to return in Week 1 next season.
“I do think they are closer than people think,” C-Mac said. “I do believe Robert Saleh. Call me crazy. I do believe the statement, ‘We’re closer than you think.’ I think just Aaron Rodgers alone makes this team a playoff team…look at the landscape of the AFC, where everyone is talking about the Browns with Joe Flacco being one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs right now.”
Saleh raved about how Rodgers has looked in practice with the scout team over the past few weeks, and C-Mac believes inserting Rodgers onto this team, with a couple of upgrades via the draft or trade market, gives the Jets a completely different look.
“Aaron Rodgers with this defense, Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and if they add another offensive weapon…I think the turnaround is really instant,” C-Mac said. “I think you are looking at a playoff team, the same way I thought about them heading into this season.”
