C-Mac: Should be all about now for Jets as they assess draft options

As the Jets sit with a top-10 draft pick again this year, C-Mac says Joe Douglas and company need to approach that pick with eyes on the here and now, even if that means moving up to get a player if there is one they really want.

“I’m all in on this season. I’m willing to trade draft picks to go get a guy I believe in,” C-Mac said. “If I’m willing to move up because I believe I can get a Hall of Fame talent wide receiver, I’m not opposed to it.”

The NFL Draft is often about the future, but with Aaron Rodgers in tow, C-Mac says the Jets need to draft a player that can help this season, future stability be damned.

“Go get the great player,” C-Mac said. “Because it’s about the next two years for the Jets.

“I’m sure on some level, the bloom is off the rose with Aaron Rodgers…but when you make a move to bring in Aaron Rodgers, it’s an all-in situation. You haven’t seen the playoffs in 13 years…that has to end. That would be my driving force. I’m not worried about two or four years from now. I’ll figure that out. They’re in a position where I believe the roster is good enough, the defense is good enough, they have enough young weapons…I’m not focused on the idea of ‘what happens if Aaron Rodgers goes down?’ If Aaron Rodgers goes down, I’m screwed. Plain and simple.”
