It was Craig and Evan’s turn to react to Robert Saleh’s declaration that he is “keeping receipts” on anyone and everyone who doubted or mocked the Jets during the early stages of this rebuild.
For Craig, he was just wondering where all the optimism went.
“What happened to the notion of ‘positive vibes only?’” Craig said.
“Rather than maintain the notion of the mantra of positive vibes, you’ve retreated into a corner and are coming out with your claws out. That’s not positive. You’re engaging a fanbase that is ready for a fight. Guess what? You’re gonna lose.”
Evan says Saleh’s words better not be aimed at fan complaints, given everything they’ve had to endure since long before Saleh took over.
“If anything, you should be kissing the fanbase’s ass,” Evan said. “Because all we’ve done is watch bad football for a decade, including 18 games that you coached.”
Craig thinks Saleh doesn’t have the pulse of his fanbase, which is already turning on him.
“If you don’t think the Jets fanbase is already thinking about Sean Payton…if you don’t think the fanbase is already contemplating who they want to be their next head coach, you’re out of touch,” Craig said. “Because I know for a fact that’s happening.”
