Craig: Aaron Rodgers showing he doesn't want to play for Jets

Aaron Rodgers is still not a member of the Jets, and Craig Carton is ready to call Rodgers’ bluff.

If the future Hall of Famer is naming an extensive list of demands to join him in New York, then Craig believes he may not want to play in the Big Apple in the first place.

“Aaron Rodgers doesn’t really want to be a Jet, and now the Jets are forced to add player after player to make playing for the Jets more palatable for Aaron Rodgers,” Craig said. “That’s where we’re at.

“If he wanted to be a Jet, he’d be a Jet. He doesn’t want to be a Jet, so now he’s making demands.”

Rodgers reportedly told the Jets he wants Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis, and Odell Beckham Jr. to join him in New York, and the Jets are reportedly interested or working out a deal for all of them. But Craig says it has simply gone too far.

“I respect the fact that if you go somewhere new, you want to have a guy or two or three who is familiar to make the transition easier,” Craig said.
“But there also has to come a point where the Jets do say to him, ‘Either you want to be a Jet or you don’t.’”

As for Evan, he is hoping that those free agent wish list entries by Rodgers are more just polite requests from a future Jet, though even if they were demands, he would happily oblige.

“I think Aaron Rodgers is making requests of people he’d like to play with,” Evan said. “I am willing, as a fan, and if I was Joe Douglas, to reply to Aaron, ‘Yes sir, yes sir, yes sir.’”
