Craig Carton has heard all the Aaron Rodgers speculation now that Nathaniel Hackett was hired as the Jets offensive coordinator, and Craig has one reaction:
The disappointment is going to outweigh the hype.
“You guys keep saying it,” Craig said. “And I’m concerned for your well-being.”
Evan was all in on Rodgers coming to the Jets on Wednesday, perhaps even more so now that Hackett is in New York. Brandon Tierney was in the same boat on Thursday after Hackett’s hiring was announced, but Craig cannot understand those who think Rodgers to the Jets is now suddenly a sure thing.
“While getting Nathaniel Hackett is a good thing, it’s a good thing independent of anything Aaron Rodgers decides to do, or anything the Jets and Packers decide to do,” Craig said.
“Don’t get crazy…just because the Jets got Nathaniel Hackett does not mean that Aaron Rodgers is gonna be the Jets quarterback. The Broncos got Nathaniel Hackett as their head coach, not even just their OC, under the same premise…and how did that pan out? It didn’t.”
