With Aaron Rodgers sitting out of quarterback drills in Jets OTAs on Tuesday, attention quickly turned towards Zach Wilson, who was then described to have had a great practice running the offense during 7-on-7 drills.
It was only one day where reporters were able to watch the practice, but Craig is already tired of hearing about how great the former No. 2 overall pick looked in May.
“Can we do ourselves a favor? This is one aspect of the Aaron Rodgers trade that’s gonna drive me bonkers until Week 1,” Craig said. “I do not care if Zach Wilson completed a pass!
“‘Oh, he go it into a tight window today to Garrett Wilson,’ shut up!”
Craig doesn’t blame the reporters for updating Wilson’s progress at practice, as that is their jobs, but to also hear head coach Robert Saleh still talking up Wilson as a quarterback with a “sky high” ceiling despite looking like a bust has become exhausting.
“I don’t care how good Zach Wilson looked at practice. He is not my quarterback,” Craig said. “Stop telling me how great Zach Wilson is gonna be.”
