Did Sunday's win change your view on bringing back Aaron Rodgers in 2025? Evan and Tiki disagree
Aaron Rodgers turned back the clock on Sunday afternoon, throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns, even rushing for a team-high 45 yards in the comeback win over the Jaguars.
Rodgers connected with favorite target Davante Adams for two of those three touchdowns, one of them a deep dart in stride for a 71-yard score. It was enough to sell some Jets fans on Rodgers returning in 2025, but Evan Roberts isn’t one of them.
“We need to take a deep breath when evaluating Aaron Rodgers,” Evan said. “Aaron Rodgers played really well [Sunday]. He was awesome...here’s the ‘but’: evaluating this game against the Jaguars in the middle of December in a meaningless season and saying ‘Light bulb, we have to bring him back now,’ that’s asinine!
“Can we stop short of changing our view on next season and changing our view on Aaron Rodgers?”
Tiki disagrees, as he believes health is everything, and Rodgers clearly wasn’t healthy for much of the season, and now fans are seeing what Rodgers can do when he’s feeling like himself physically. If Gang Green can get that level of Rodgers for a full season, then he is now in on bringing him back.
“For the first time all season, he actually looked healthy,” Tiki said. “The previous games I’ve seen him play, he looked compromised physically. He tore his Achilles, and tried to accelerate his rehab...it was detrimental to him. So much so that he looked hobbled six months later when he started the 2024 season.
“He looked like the Aaron Rodgers that we’ve seen Aaron Rodgers be.”
Evan believes Rodgers is at an age where health is always going to be a concern, and one good game against the Jaguars isn’t going to change his opinion that he would likely move on after this season.
“Don’t let a game in the middle of December against the Jaguars change your opinion,” Evan said.
