Sam Darnold is never going to live down his “seeing ghosts” comment.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback was once again struggling against the New England Patriots on Sunday, the same team he made the original comment with while on the New York Jets, and the CBS broadcast seemed to anticipate this would happen.

In the third quarter, Darnold threw an interception in the red zone to J.C. Jackson, who returned the pick for an 88-yard touchdown to give the Patriots a 21-6 lead.

When CBS returned, they flashed a spooky graphic of Darnold’s career stats against the Patriots — written on tombstones with ghosts behind them, naturally.

All those results came with the Jets, but it was clear by the early fourth quarter on Sunday that he was not faring much better as a Panther.

Darnold threw another interception on the ensuing drive, which was picked off by linebacker Jamie Collins.

He tossed his third on the drive after that in the end zone, which was once again courtesy of J.C. Jackson, although this time he did not return it for a touchdown.

The avalanche on interceptions inevitably led to nothing but ghost jokes on social media from everyone, including former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.

Seems like CBS will need to update that graphic with another tombstone.
