Evan was on the air to react to the news of Zach Wilson being traded to the Broncos shortly after the trade broke, and he was in a celebratory mood after learning that the former No. 2 overall pick is done in New York.
“Our long national nightmare of watching Zach Wilson play football for the Jets, or having to hear people talk about how he might be good…it’s over,” Evan said.
The Jets got a sixth-round pick for Wilson and a seventh-round pick, which Evan says is a “steal” for a quarterback who struggled for his entire Jets tenure.
“I think it’s an absolute steal…$3 million in cap space created, and they move up like 35 picks,” Evan said. “That’s a steal for a guy that can’t play football.”
