Evan explains why he's starting to change his Aaron Rodgers opinion for next season

Evan Roberts opened Monday’s show by declaring that he still would lean towards moving on from Aaron Rodgers after this season, regardless of the four-time MVP having his best game as a Jet the day before, throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Jaguars.

Then, Evan heard Tiki Barber and Joe Benigno’s rebuttal, and he admittedly is starting to change his tone.

“It hit me at the Nets game last night,” Evan said. “That as much as I’m fighting you and everyone else about Aaron Rodgers…you said something that is still resonating in my head. You said ‘Who’s your quarterback, bro?’ There is no good answer!

“Aaron Rodgers looking spry and playing well against the Jaguars in the middle in December doesn’t move me…it’s the last part. It’s the ‘What are you gonna do?’”

Looking at the alternatives to Rodgers in 2025, none of them inspire much intrigue at all for Evan, and while he still believes that Rodgers remaining the starting quarterback next year will end in frustration due to injury or continued physical decline, the roster is too good to tank, so they might as well give Rodgers another chance.

“I get it…based on the cap situation, if they move on from Aaron Rodgers, they’re not signing Sam Darnold,” Evan said. “They’re starting Tyrod Taylor, maybe a young quarterback they draft, and maybe Jordan Travis. Is that a team that’s making the postseason?

“Because they have so much talent on their roster…they’re too good to tank.”
