Evan likens Jets defense to 'a bad relationship in high school'

Evan has had an up-and-down relationship with the Jets defense so far this season, but right now, it has reached an apex.

“This is like a bad relationship in high school that I have with the Jets defense,” Evan said. “I’m in love, it’s the sexiest thing in the world, and then I get cheated on - that’s called the first half - they don’t force turnovers, then something magical happens late in the game, and I’m back in love.

“Then I go back and forth during the week - should I really be with her? Then, by Friday, I talk myself into how great this defense is, and how they’re gonna knock off the defending NFC champions.”

The Eagles will pose a daunting task for Gang Green, especially with the offense not producing much on the scoreboard with Zach Wilson under center. The defense will have to contain Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and company, and likely force multiple turnovers  to give the Jets a chance. As of Friday, Evan believes it can happen, though he could feel much different come Saturday or Sunday.

“That’s my relationship with them. It’s a confusing one,” Evan said. “There are moments I hate them, there are moments I think they’re overrated, and then on Friday, at 2:00, I’m in love again, and I think they can be the catalyst for an upset against the Philadelphia Eagles.”
