Aaron Rodgers opened eyes when he hinted on the Pat McAfee show that his rehab program would “shock some people,” and wouldn’t rule out a return in 2023, let alone next season.

The comments had Evan ready to run through a wall.

“If this doesn’t tickle you, get you excited, and make you fantasize about many, many things, something is wrong with you,” Evan said before playing the clips of Rodgers’ comments.

“I think he’s made it very, very clear that he’s coming back. He’s coming back to play football.”

A giddy Evan completely bought in to Rodgers’ rally cry, and immediately began envisioning a scenario where the future Hall of Famer somehow defies the odds and comes back to help Gang Green this year, while also basking in the comfort of Rodgers all but confirming that he doesn’t intend to retire.

“That was so inspirational,” Evan said. “Seriously, as I try to calm myself down from the excitement of this, I don’t think he’s coming back. That would defy everything…but it’s only been four days, and at least for now, he sounds like a guy who is on a warpath to come back and quarterback for the Jets.

“I love that fire. That is an inspirational fire from Aaron Rodgers.”

Tiki replied with his own measured reaction, acknowledging the great news that Rodgers seems set on playing football again, but it very likely won’t be in time for the playoffs. But Evan was too amped up to hear any of it.

“Sorry, I didn’t hear you,” Evan said. “I was daydreaming about January, and Aaron Rodgers running onto the field for the AFC Championship Game.”
