The Seahawks have swung a trade for former Commanders starting quarterback Sam Howell, and Evan was not happy from the perspective of a Jets fan.

Evan, who made the pitch for Gang Green to bring in Howell to back up Aaron Rodgers, wasn’t happy when the news broke on Thursday.

“I would have done that on the Jets. I’m sorry,” Evan said. “I trade for him not only to be my backup, but with the idea that I could develop him too until Aaron Rodgers is gone…I’m annoyed about this.

“I get it, giving up assets is valuable…but they moved back 24 picks from the third to the fourth round, and moved back 27 picks from the fifth to the sixth round…that would be worth it for Sam Howell.”

Evan believes the Jets had to know Howell was on the trading block, and isn’t happy that Joe Douglas didn’t pounce at the opportunity to add him as their QB2.

“You know what the problem is? The general manager is sleeping,” Evan said. “Napping Joe Douglas has done a little bit - I like Morgan Moses - but he’s done next to nothing…he should have done this instead of Tyrod Taylor.”
