Evan: Aaron Rodgers and his long list of 'losing plays' is main reason Jets are 3-9
The Jets have fallen to 3-9 after another frustrating loss, this time to the Seahawks after holding a double-digit lead.
The lead began to crumble after Aaron Rodgers threw an interception that led to a historic 92-yard pick six by 300-pound defensive lineman Leonard Williams, which Evan says was the latest gaffe by Rodgers that furthered his case as the main culprit for this miserable season.
“I put most of the blame on Aaron Rodgers,” Evan said. “Here’s the reality of this overpaid, relic of a former player, this mercenary piece of craps 2.0. Aaron Rodgers consistently…all he does is make losing plays week after week. It’s not just the final drive opportunities or ball in his hands and a chance to win. It’s moments throughout a football game that Aaron Rodgers can’t make that play on.
“When you’re up 21-7 and your special teams essentially hands that lead to you, you can’t throw that pick six.”
Evan came armed with more examples, like multiple failed attempts to score in an ugly loss to the Broncos, and same for a loss to the rebuilding Patriots. Rodgers and the Jets offense also managed just six points in a blowout loss to the Cardinals that effectively ended their season last month, and on Sunday, Rodgers had another gaffe where he missed a wide-open Garrett Wilson in the end zone.
Rodgers has called out teammates for running the wrong routes on costly miscues this season, but Evan says the future Hall of Famer needs to look in the mirror.
“This guy continuously makes losing plays week after week,” Evan said. “To me, he’s the main reason they are 3-9.”
