Aaron Rodgers to the Jets rumors continue to heat up, and after the former MVP quarterback talked about Gang Green’s impressive young talent on the offensive end, Evan Roberts is convinced that the future Hall of Famer will wind up in New York next season.
“Aaron Rodgers spent 45 minutes greasing the skids. He gone. He's coming here,” Evan said. “You don't want to admit it, but I'm telling you, I'm giving you a friendly warning.”
Craig, unfortunately, wasn’t nearly so sure.
“I think we're being played,” Craig said. “Think the entire situation is setting jet fans up to do exactly what you're doing. Dream the Dream that we bring in Aaron Rodgers, who still has a lot of football left in him. Dream the dream that it's us playing this upcoming weekend against whomever it might be, [Joe] Burrow, [Patrick] Mahomes, [Justin] Herbert, whoever it is, and we give ourselves a 2-3 year window of having a chance to win a title. I think we're being bamboozled. I'm not going to stand for it.”
Still, it wasn’t enough to sway Evan in his belief that the Jets will have their new franchise quarterback next season, the missing piece to catapulting Gang Green into true contention.
“Aaron Rodgers has set the tone,” Evan said. “He's coming to the Jets.”
