Coming out of Buffalo’s loss to the Broncos on Monday night, some Jets fans may have a sense of hope that, despite their recent struggles, the AFC East is still within reach.

Evan came away with a much different, and much more sobering, realization.

“My biggest takeaway is that Nate Hackett sucks. Last year with the Denver Broncos, he couldn’t even finish last season, because he got fired,” Evan said, then noting the Broncos’ offensive improvements since Hackett’s exit.

Meanwhile, the Jets offense has followed the opposite trajectory since Hackett took over as offensive coordinator.

“We’ve watched the 2023 offense get worse,” Evan said. “Last year, they scored 17.5 points per game. This year, they’re scoring 16 points per game…they have a historically bad red zone offense.

“The head coach is trying to tell me that the quarterback is better. If the quarterback is better, Breece Hall is healthy, and it’s not like the offensive line were world-beaters last season. It feels like the connection is Nate Hackett.”

With those realizations in mind, Evan doesn’t see how Hackett can be seen as a good coach capable of getting the Jets back on track.

“Tell me I’m wrong that Nate Hackett doesn’t completely suck, because when you look at Denver, and you look at the Jets, I see a parallel,” Evan said. “Tell me I’m lying with these productions that I just laid out.”
