Evan worried Jets will once again struggle with 'prosperity' against Giants

Heading into what appeared to be a daunting task against the Eagles, Evan expressed optimism that the Jets could shock the world and hand the defending NFC champs their first loss, thanks to their top-notch defense.

Now, heading into a seemingly much more manageable matchup with the Giants, Evan has big concerns, simply because Gang Green is riding high coming out of their bye week.

“They have not done well with prosperity,” Evan said. “When things have started to turn, they haven’t always responded.

“They haven’t always responded by turning it into something bigger. That certainly happened last year…last year, they had that incredible comeback against the Browns, came back the following week, they came back the following week and lost to the Bengals. This year, they get that incredible win against the Bills in Week 1, everyone is giddy, and they lose a bunch of games in a row. Prosperity, in the Robert Saleh era, has not been something they have done well with.”

The Jets losing Breece Hall to a season-ending injury last season certainly impacted their six-game losing streak to end last season, but Evan also believes that this iteration of Gang Green has not shown an ability to handle success. Plus, he has one other big concern.

“Finally, have we forgotten,” Evan said. “That the quarterback is Zach Wilson?”
