Evan's one big concern with Haason Reddick absence from Jets OTAs

Evan doesn’t have much concern about Haason Redick skipping OTAs as he likely holds out for a new contract, but once aspect about the new Jets pass rusher’s absence has him frustrated.

It’s the fact that Robert Saleh hasn’t spoken to his new defensive star at all.

“I didn’t like that he said he hasn’t talked to him,” Evan said of Saleh. “It’s one thing for him not to be at OTAs. They are voluntary…I’m not concerned about Haason Reddick. He wants a new contract in a contract year.
What recourse does he have other than this? But it kind of bothers me that the head coach said ‘Yeah I haven’t talked to him.’

“Is that me being a Saleh hater, or is that actually a fair concern?”

Tiki insisted that it’s nothing, noting that he never spoke with Tom Coughlin in the offseason during his time with the Giants, but Evan still would like to see a more proactive Saleh when it comes to speaking with players, especially ones just joining the team who could already be disgruntled.

“You’re the head coach of the team,” Evan said. “You kind of want to know everything and be involved in everything.”
