Gio: All Jets blame or glory will now be placed squarely at feet of Aaron Rodgers
The Jets have brought in Davante Adams to bolster their receiving core and bring in Aaron Rodgers’ favorite wide receiver target from his entire career.
For Gio, the all-in move means that Rodgers is now facing all the pressure in the world to turn things around this season and prove that he is worth all of this investment.
“All the blame and all the glory, no matter where this season goes, has to fall right at the feet of Aaron Rodgers,” Gio said.
“He is in more control than ever. He can sit there and tell you and Pat McAfee ‘Its funny the amount of control people think I have.’ OK, within a week and a half, the guy you didn’t respect and like as a head coach is gone a day after you talk to the owner on the phone, and now, Davante Adams pops up right behind you after you trash your wide receiver after yet another loss.”
Rodgers has insisted that the doesn’t have the kind of pull within the organization that many believe, but Gio says this move proves not only that his declarations aren’t true, but that he has made himself the only target of criticism should things continue to falter on the field.
“Sorry, it’s all on you,” Gio said. “I didn’t think it as possible to have more pressure on Aaron Rodgers and the Jets, but now there is, because they’re throwing everything into this season and giving Aaron everything he wants. So you better turn this thing around.”
