Gio: Jets 'couldn't be more embarrassing,' Aaron Rodgers 'infected' team worse than they were before
The Jets have just one more game to go before their miserable season comes to a merciful end, which will start the clock on key decisions such as Aaron Rodgers’ future, and who will be the next head coach and general manager.
Before the curtain closes on a season full of losses, firings, and scathing reports, Gio took time to look back on just how embarrassing the season was for Gang Green, including its latest loss to the Bills, which began with the team taking the field with a custom boom box and ending with a blowout and Rodgers on the bench.
“This is as bad as it gets,” Gio said. “This has to be the worst season in their history, and that’s saying a lot.
“They could not be more embarrassing...it was so embarrassing. The Jets themed boom box...and to go out there and get their asses whipped, you could not be more of an embarrassing franchise.”
As for some of those questions that await once the season ends, Gio was happy to hear that Boomer believes Rodgers can’t be back for a third season, as Gio has long been campaigning for New York to move on from what turned out to be an epic failure.
“Finally, at least people have come to their senses on that one. Goodbye Aaron Rodgers,” Gio said. “Enough is enough. It’s sad the way it worked out, but you can’t bring him back.
“He is more of a symbol than anything. He came in here and infected the franchise even worse than they were already infected. They tried for him to be a drug to cure them, and he made their symptoms even worse. He’s gotta go.”
