Gio: Aaron Rodgers once again vehemently denies reports that cast him in negative light

Aaron Rodgers made his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show and vehemently denied The Athletic’s reporting that the future Hall of Famer would like to play next season, just not with the Jets.

In fact, Rodgers went on to call these two years in New York the best of his life, even with the results on the field being disastrous.

For Gio, who has heard Rodgers deny reports about his wants or behaviors countless times, is hardly surprised that Rodgers took such a strong stance opposing the revelations from that report.

“Of course he did!” Gio said. “Find me the time that anything that was reported negatively about Aaron Rodgers, he came out and said it was true. There was never one time where someone reported something about him that doesn’t make him look good where he has come out and said ‘You know what? That’s the truth.’ So I don’t know what to believe.”

As for the rest of Rodgers’ appearance with McAfee, Gio found it interesting to hear more about the quarterback’s relationship with Christopher Johnson, who could be taking back over the team should Woody Johnson be sent back to the UK as the US ambassador for Donald Trump’s administration once Trump is sworn in as president. Could that be a sign that Rodgers does indeed stay put in New York?

“It was interesting to me when he talked about having dinner with a Johnson, and it wasn’t Woody,” Gio said. “It was Christopher. There’s been a lot of talk about the relationship between Woody and Aaron, and Christopher is like the nicest guy involved in football...he’s actually too nice sometimes.

“Maybe they know Woody is taking another job in the administration, and Christopher is taking over.”
