Gio: Jets are officially 'dead,' team is 'rotten to the core'
The Jets suffered an embarrassing loss to the rival Patriots on Sunday afternoon, and Gio says it was the final nail in the coffin to the team’s wildly disappointing season.
And it only makes it more painful that the season ended thanks to one of the worst losses the franchise has ever endured.
“It is over. They are not coming back,” Gio said. “They are dead.
“This has got to be one of the worst regular season losses that this franchise has had in many years. This was the first time they were over a touchdown favorite on the road since 1991, and they lost the game.”
Gio was hoping to have competitive football to talk about this season, as the Jets came into 2024 with Super Bowl aspirations thanks to a healthy Aaron Rodgers and a revamped offensive line. But now, it’s gotten so bad with five straight losses, that Gio can’t help but laugh at the all-too-familiar Jets implosion.
“I just started laughing at what was going on on the field,” Gio said. “I’m like ‘This can’t be any worse!’ [Rodgers] doesn’t look the same. There’s nothing about this team that is good. The entire team is rotten to the core.”
