Gio: Jets are 'the biggest losers I've ever seen' and Aaron Rodgers has made them worst

The New York Jets fought hard for much of the game, and had the lead for quite a while…and then the defense folded late, turning a 24-16 lead with 13 minutes to go into a 28-27 loss that could’ve been worse, had the Colts not gone for two twice and failed both times on their fourth quarter touchdowns.

But, hey, that’s what a 3-8 team does best.

“I don't know where the hell this season goes, but these guys are the biggest losers I have ever seen. Every single one of them!” Gio screamed Monday morning. “That pathetic, disgusting loser defense that can't stop Anthony Richardson? Twice in the fourth quarter, 70-yard drives – this guy was taking himself out of games! You’re a bunch of losers!”

Maybe they shouldn’t have scapegoated Rob Saleh?

“Jeff Ulbrich has no goddamn idea what he's doing, none, and this is a guy that you fired a head coach to put in charge,” Gio continued. “I feel bad for him. He's a nice guy, but he has no clue, and Todd Downing, Nathaniel Hackett…losers, every single one of them. And I don’t know how you get out of it; I don't know if Aaron Rodgers is gonna play just for the money, but we sat here on Friday and talked about how losing this game would be a new low.”

“I don’t know what Jalen Mills is thinking against Alec Pierce down the right sideline on that last drive; you have to keep everything in front of you and not jump a double-move route,” Boomer replied. “You are too experienced to have that happen. All this idiocy that is surrounding this team, the season can’t get over fast enough.”

Speaking of that four-time MVP QB, he was 22-for-29 for 189 yards and two touchdowns, but, uh, against the Colts, the guys needed to see much more than that, especially after the clunker in Arizona.

“Aaron Rodgers was supposed to save the franchise, but he somehow dug them into a deeper hole than they were before, which I never saw coming,” Gio said. “We’re all wrong about a lot of things in sports when we guess, but I just had all the respect in the world for him as a quarterback, and a Hall of Fame player, to come here. That was the type of guy that the Jets needed, to have Aaron Rodgers be to the Jets what Mark Messier was to the Rangers, and just be the guy that ends the curse or whatever, but he has made this thing worse.”

Nobody expected the Achilles injury, so you have to give 2023 a pass, but this year?

“He’s cooked, he's done, he's finished. They were terrible in the first half and the whole totality of him this season stinks,” Gio said. “You might get a little bit of a gleam at some point because he's Aaron Rodgers and it's in there, but it's never gonna be consistent enough ever again because he's too old.”

“He actually played a really good second half,” Boomer shot back, “but I didn’t know if he was coming out for the second half, because in the first half, it looked like this is the last place he wanted to be. I see very little interaction with him on the sideline, like he doesn’t even want to get engaged.”
