Some Jets fans have expressed concern about the team’s shaky offensive line becoming the unit that dismantles the most hyped Gang Green season in decades.
Gio, who doesn’t share that concern, did one better on Friday.
In what was likely an excruciating exercise for Jets fans, Gio mapped out what would happen for 2023 to be the biggest disappointment the Jets have ever seen.
Taking injuries out of the equation, Gio laid out the absolute worst-case scenario for the year.
“If you are the most negative Jets fan of all time, here’s your worst case scenario: Aaron Rodgers and the Jets, they’re just a flop,” Gio said. “They don’t play well, they’re a 6-7 win team.
“Mike White comes in for an injured Tua, wins Comeback Player of the Year, leads them to the division title and the playoffs.
“Sam Darnold becomes the 49ers quarterback, is also in the running for Comeback Player of the Year, and leads them to a Super Bowl.”
Boomer threw another wrinkle into Gio’s last bullet point.
“Their first playoff game is against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers,” Boomer said.
But fear not, Jets fans. This was just an exercise.
“I don’t think any of that is happening,” Gio said. “I’m just saying, if you’re a doomsday Joe Benigno Jet fan, that is the scenario you’re waiting for.”
