The Jets brought back Morgan Moses in a trade with the Ravens, in addition to signing John Simpson a day before as Gang Green tries to address its glaring offensive line problems from last season.
While it’s impossible to give a verdict now, Gio says, on paper, it seems like Joe Douglas did well by his team.
“Rebuilding an offensive line is a difficult thing to do,” Gio said. “We’ve seen the Giants try to do this successfully in recent years, and they have busted it every which way.
“We might be looking at this late in the season and saying it didn’t work out, but looking at it on paper right now…it looks great. The Ravens offensive line, they led the league in rushing last year…for everybody screaming and yelling at both of these teams to fix the offensive line, what Joe Douglas has done in this offseason, with those two guys at the very least, has been very impressive.”
