Gio: Support for Zach Wilson 'on its last breath' heading into Sunday

As the Jets get set to welcome the rival Patriots on Sunday, Gio says this is the last chance for a quarterback in Zach Wilson who he believes has already gotten too many last chances.

“The support for Zach, it’s on its last breath,” Gio said. “We’re talking about life support.

“If he comes out and craps his pants in this game, there is no more support, no more excuses. Nobody wants to hear it anymore. There are probably about five people left out there that believe he can actually do something. They will evaporate into the air if he stinks.”

Wilson has struggled mightily against New England in his career, and didn’t do nearly enough last week to give hope that he can still keep the Jets on course for the goals they had coming into the season with Aaron Rodgers. If he can’t beat the 0-2 Pats on Sunday, Gio doesn’t want to see Wilson on the field anymore.

“Enough is enough with this guy,” Gio said. “This should be his last shot, in my opinion.”
