Gio: This version of Aaron Rodgers, with this coaching staff, won't win Jets a Super Bowl

Gio saw a video of Aaron Rodgers interacting with a Jets fan who was begging him to finally bring the franchise another Super Bowl trophy, and the clip brought Gio a sense of dread when it comes to Gang Green in 2024.

With the future Hall of Famer nearing the end of his career, and with the coaching staff the Jets have in place, Gio doesn’t see that fan’s dream coming true this season, or during Rodgers’ tenure.

“You see Aaron Rodgers, who has obviously not attended everything he could have attended this offseason, is coming off a massive injury at 40 years old,” Gio said. “The idea of getting this Hall of Fame quarterback to save the organization, the way we felt last year, I don’t feel the same about it this year.
With everything that has gone on this past year, I’m like ‘Man, he’s just not the guy.’ He’s not gonna be that Mark Messier.”

Gio believes Rodgers is less engaged in football than ever before in his career, as he has pursued other interests during the offseason, and physically, he doesn’t believe he will be able to hold up coming off season-ending Achilles surgery that cut his debut campaign with the Jets short after just four snaps last season.

“You’re telling me the Jets…are gonna get to the promised land with a 40-year-old quarterback who almost ran for vice president on an independent ticket with RFK Jr, who went to Egypt during mandatory minicamp, with Nathaniel Hackett as his offensive coordinator and Robert Saleh as his head coach?” Gio said. “Nope, I’m sorry, it ain’t happening.”
