Gio will be on holiday vacation next week, and the best part about having time off might be the fact that he won’t have to be keyed in on Sunday’s Jets game against the Commanders.
In what had initially been circled on the calendar as a potentially intriguing game due to Aaron Rodgers’ possible return, Sunday’s contest has now become one with little to no stakes, as Rodgers is not playing, Zach Wilson is ruled out with a concussion, and Gang Green is mathematically eliminated.
Suffice to say that Gio won’t be spending his Christmas Eve watching two losing teams play for nothing but draft positioning.
“I’m gonna love not having to pay attention to that football game. It is totally meaningless,” Gio said.
“Just a total dud puke spot. Not even gonna pay attention to it. It’s gonna feel great not having to pay attention to that football game.”
