Gio would be 'absolutely shocked' if Jets don't sign David Bakhtiari

The Jets clearly need to change some things up after Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury exposed several flaws in the roster last season, but Gio thinks there is one area that Gang Green won’t change.

That area is the catering to Aaron Rodgers and signing his former teammates, which Gio says will continue with the addition of one of Rodgers’ former offensive lineman.

“They’re gonna sign David Bakhtiari, he’s gonna play four snaps like Aaron Rodgers did, and he’ll be out the rest of the year,” Gio said.
“You know he’s gonna be here.

“I would be absolutely shocked if David Bakhtiari isn’t a New York Jet. It’ll be however much he wants because Aaron Rodgers is gonna want him. You’re gonna tell me that they’re finally gonna stand up to that guy and say ‘No, we’re not paying him that much’?”

Boomer isn’t sold on Bakhtiari being a Jet, but could certainly see him coming to New York if he took a big pay cut.

“If he wants to take the veteran minimum, I would bring him in,” Boomer said. “There’s no reason not to. But I’m not paying him some sort of ungodly sum, because his injury history with the Packers is significant.”
