Jerry & C-Lo: Can Jets make Super Bowl run in tough AFC?

As the Jets have wrapped up their preseason, the next game will count, and a season with sky-high expectations will officially begin.

Will Gang Green find a way to meet or exceed those expectations in 2024? Jerry Recco believes Aaron Rodgers and company are more than capable of making it a season to remember, but Chris Lopresti isn’t so sure.

“I don’t know, I don’t see that,” C-Lo said. “I think a lot of things would have to break right in order for them to get to that point. Should they be a playoff team? Of course they should be.

“In this day and age, this era, and some of the other teams in the AFC...and if you tell me Aaron Rodgers and the Jets against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs? I’m sorry, I have a hard time making that leap.”

Jerry recognizes the gauntlet of the AFC, especially with Mahomes and the Chiefs vying for a three-peat, but he wouldn’t doubt a healthy Rodgers and that Jets defense in a playoff game against Kansas City.

“This team is gonna play great defense...that’s what they’re set up to do,” Jerry said. “I think they have good pieces up front, and you’ve got skill players everywhere you need them to be.”
