Jerry Recco opened Friday’s show by sounding off on Joe Douglas for continuing to voice the “respect” he has for Haason Reddick and his agent as Reddick’s holdout continues.
“I wanted to put my fist through a wall, and I’m not even a Jet fan,” Jerry said. “The way Joe Douglas was talking about Haason Reddick and his agent, it felt as if he is afraid to say the wrong thing to piss them off.
As a football fan, it was mind numbing to me.”
Jerry doesn’t see where that respect would come from after Reddick seemed to take on a drastically different tune following his introductory press conference, and if he were to search for a common denominator, Jerry would point to Reddick’s agent as a potential catalyst.
“You can go back to when Reddick got here and stood in front of the podium and said ‘I’m gonna be there. The contract will take care of itself. I’m here to play football,’” Jerry said. “To me, when I watch Haason Reddick at that press conference…I see a guy saying ‘I gotta go prove it and make the money in the off-season, so be it.’ But then something happened in the middle that told him ‘You ain’t showing up in that building.’ I don’t know it’s the agent, but outside looking in, it sounds like the agent.”
