Aaron Rodgers and the Jets have reportedly agreed to rework the star quarterback’s contract, and the future Hall of Famer’s salaries could not look more different over the next two years.
According to NFL insider Mike Florio, the new terms of the contract “smooths out” a salary of $1.165 million for this season, but in 2024, a “gargantuan compensation package” will net Rodgers $107.55 million, a result of an option bonus being moved from 2023 to 2024.
Per Florio, the details of the new deal are not yet known, and has been agreed upon, but not yet signed.
Rodgers is expected to be more than a one-year option for the Jets, who clearly have made a massive financial commitment to the future Hall of Famer, convinced that they are a quarterback away from being contenders.
