Aaron Rodgers posted to his Instagram account on Wednesday in his first public comments since tearing his Achilles just four snaps into his hyped Jets tenure.
Rodgers, now facing a long road of rehab after surgery, vowed that he will “rise yet again” despite being lost for the rest of the season.
“Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, DM’d, connected through a friend, etc.,” Rodgers wrote. “It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon. I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin the healing process today.
“The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again.
“Proud of my guys, 1-0.”
Many took Rodgers’ comments as a sign that he does not want to end his Hall of Fame career with Monday’s injury being the final time he takes the football field. Jets fans hope he will be back next season, as Rodgers initially gave the team a multi-year commitment, but time will tell based on his recovery.
