Tiki: Jets aren't team to beat in AFC East until Aaron Rodgers shows he can last one game
The Bills surprised many in the football world on Wednesday by trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Texans, with Buffalo getting just a second-round pick in return.
As the Bills seem to be a team getting worse this offseason, Evan asked if the Jets are now the team to beat in the AFC East in 2024, given Buffalo’s latest moves, the miserable state of the Patriots, and questions surrounding the Dolphins with Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback.
Tiki says fans need to pump the brakes on making that statement, at least until Aaron Rodgers shows he can last more than four snaps into a season.
“As soon as Aaron Rodgers takes the field healthy and he lasts a game, then maybe they will be the team to beat in the AFC, especially the AFC East, starting next year,” Tiki said. “But not yet.
“I need to see a healthy team and a healthy offensive line protect him as well.”
Evan won’t make that declaration just yet either, but it’s safe to say that Gang Green is closing the gap.
“In this upcoming year, the Bills have gotten worse,” Evan said. “Great news if you’re a Jet fan.”
