Tom Brady is reportedly set to retire after 22 seasons and seven Super Bowl wins, bringing to an end what has arguably been the greatest career ever by a professional athlete.
Of course, Brady spent the bulk of his memorable career with the Patriots, which normally guaranteed two beatdowns of the Jets each year, sometimes even three. Brady went 31-8 against Gang Green over the course of his career, leading him to be one of the most hated figures among Jets fans, who have been waiting for a franchise quarterback of their own for decades.
Even after Brady left New England, he still managed to stick it to New York as recently as this season, when he led the Buccaneers on a late comeback to spoil what would have been a surprising victory for Zach Wilson and the Jets.
So, it shouldn't be a surprise that once news of Brady's retirement made its way through Twitter, Jets fans far and wide celebrated the farewell of one of their greatest tormentors.
