Jets head coach Robert Saleh tests positive for COVID-19

The Jets continue to run into COVID-19 issues heading into Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, with the virus now reaching head coach Robert Saleh.

The team announced Wednesday morning that Saleh had tested positive for COVID-19, and was experiencing symptoms, leading to the test, which is in accordance with the league’s adjusted protocols.

Saleh could be back as soon as Thursday, but would need to register a negative test and be showing no symptoms. But his status for Sunday’s game is now in doubt, and should he not be able to be on the sidelines, tight ends coach Ron Middleton would handle head coaching responsibilities.

New York now has 15 members of the organization on the reserve/COVID-19 list, including Saleh. Other notable names include rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore, rookie offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker, and running back Michael Carter.
