Jets linebacker CJ Mosley will wait until Sunday morning workouts to determine if his hamstring is ready to go for Sunday’s rematch with the Patriots.
Mosley injured his hamstring late in Sunday’s loss to the Falcons in London, and has been considered day-to-day, but head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Thursday morning that the decision on Mosley will be made shortly before kickoff on Sunday.
In addition, tight end Tyler Kroft will likely miss Sunday’s game.
“CJ’s gonna go down to the wire,” Saleh said. “Kroft doesn’t look good, otherwise, everyone else is good to go.”
Mosley battled a groin injury for most of the 2019 campaign, playing in just two games, before opting out of last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, he has been a reliable presence up to this point, logging the most snaps by any Jets defensive player, and he leads the team with 45 tackles.
Rookie Jamien Sherwood will play the Mike linebacker role if Mosley’s hamstring doesn’t test well on Sunday.

“We’re really excited about Jamien,” Saleh said. “The more he plays, the better he’s gonna get. He’s one of the guys that I think is gonna be a staple here for awhile…his ability to uncoil and tackle people is one of the best in the draft. He doesn’t give up many leaky yards. He belongs, let’s just say that. He’s only going to get better.”
