Shaun Morash isn’t fully buying into the Jets hype, even with a committed Aaron Rodgers in tow.
Sure, Gang Green will compete and likely make the playoffs in an expanded playoff field, but Shaun says the team’s young core still has some growing to do.
“I believe the Jets are a 10-win team…I believe they will make the playoffs, not win the division, probably lose in the Wild Card round, and it will look a lot like the Aaron Rodgers playoff exits over the last couple of years,” Shaun said.
“I don’t think that’s outlandish…it seems to be the track record for Aaron Rodgers-led teams recently. Also, a Jet core that I think, tasting a playoff game…will do them some good.”
Rodgers missed the playoffs with the Packers last year, and lost in the divisional round the season prior. Shaun doesn’t see much better this year, and while Jets fans are pumped up for the upcoming season, Shaun believes the time to really get excited would be next year, assuming this team can get at least one game of playoff experience under its belt by then.
“If Aaron Rodgers is really, truly committed to being here more than this year, I think next year is the year you think about the Super Bowl, if they make the playoffs this year,” Shaun said. “There is something to that. To ultimately lift that Lombardi Trophy…experiencing playoff football for a locker room, for a core group of guys, it wets your whistle, you get a taste of it, and you’re good to go.”
