Joe Douglas talks Duane Brown with Boomer and Gio: 'Wheels are in motion'

Jets general manager Joe Douglas joined Boomer and Gio on Tuesday to talk all things Gang Green, especially the most pressing matter at camp: Mekhi Becton’s potentially season-ending injury.

“We’re still working through more information,” Douglas said. “There are still more doctors he needs to see before we have a final game plan here. Obviously more concerning than what we initially thought coming off the field yesterday, so we just want to make sure we have all our ducks in a row.”

With Becton likely done for the year, will the Jets bring in veteran Duane Brown to fill in the hole on the offensive line? In talking with Douglas, it sounds like it is becoming a very real possibility.

“Duane came in Saturday, he was at our Green and White scrimmage at the stadium,” Douglas said. “He looks great, he’s in phenomenal shape. Obviously wheels are in motion. We’ll see how things work out.”
