As the Jets continue to trot out Zach Wilson, and even named him the starter for next week after Sunday’s struggles, Gio can only conclude that the team is already waving the white flag on the season after just three games.
“What I saw yesterday was a team that has decided this season is no longer important to them, and they’re just gonna let it die, and we’re just gonna sit there and watch,” Gio said. “Having him play quarterback means you’re not trying to win. They know it over there, and for some reason, they are not doing anything about it.”
Saleh consistently pointed to other areas of the team, outside of just the quarterback, that need to improve after Sunday’s loss, and Gio simply can’t believe the team won’t admit the true source of their struggles and do what is necessary to keep the season alive.
“If I were Garrett Wilson or Mekhi Becton or the defense hearing that I would be like ‘Dude, stop! I am doing everything I can!’” Gio said.
“The stubbornness of this organization with this guy is mind-boggling.”
