The Jets are getting set to embark on year two of their new era behind Robert Saleh and Zach Wilson, and it hasn’t all been clear steps forward.
Wilson is nursing another knee injury and is in doubt for Week 1, when Gang Green will look to improve on a lowly four-win season that included a league-worst defense.
Still, Saleh sees the framework for multiple Super Bowl titles that he talked about when he first took the job.
“I still believe that we're going to win championships here,” Saleh told reporters on Wednesday. “When you look at Joe and his staff and the way he communicates with us as a coaching staff, our process is too good.”
The Jets’ offseason was widely praised, from their free agent signings to their draft picks, but it will only matter if they pay off on the field. Saleh has no doubt that significant strides will be made towards their ultimate goal.
“I think the players we’ve brought in our made of the right stuff,” Saleh said. “And the way Woody and Christopher get us whatever we need with player acquisitions...it's too good for this not to work.
“Just really excited to continue to build this roster and develop these young men and live up to the promise we made when we first got here.”
