Jets rookie core dreaming of what's to come after dominating Dolphins: 'Bro, we're so good'

The Jets touted rookies balled out on Sunday, helping snap a divisional losing streak that began while they were still playing college ball.

Rookie running back Breece Hall set a Jets rookie record with 197 yards from scrimmage in the 40-17 win over the Dolphins, while Sauce Gardner secured his first career interception and helped slow down Miami’s dynamic receiving duo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Garrett Wilson caught three of his four targets to continue his strong season.

It’s no surprise to these rookies, who know they are only just starting to tap into their collective potential.

“We were actually just talking about this during the game,” Hall said. “We were like, 'Bro, we're so good. We have so much potential to be so good. We just gotta keep chipping away at it.”

The rookie core dreamed about showcasing their talent since draft night, and now, after five games and a winning record in that opening span for the first time in 13 years, they are showing the world what they can do, despite having just begun their NFL careers.

“Even after the draft, Garrett hit me up and Sauce FaceTimed me,” Hall said. “I was training for the combine with them at the same facility. We were with each other for a few months and never talked about getting drafted by the same team, and it ends up happening. That was just a really crazy experience.

“Now we just talk about it like, ‘Bro, we can be so good.’”
