Don’t expect any Jets quarterback controversy when Zach Wilson is cleared to play.

Despite a dramatic and improbable comeback win over the Browns last weekend with Joe Flacco under center, head coach Robert Saleh made it clear that Wilson, still sidelined with a knee injury, is the team’s quarterback of the future, and once he is ready, he will be the starter.

“Zach is the future of the organization. We all know that,” Saleh told reporters on Wednesday.

“As soon as the doctors clear him, we’ll get him on the field.”

That could come as soon as Week 4, meaning Joe Flacco may have one more game as the starter. Some wondered if another strong showing by the veteran Flacco, and a 2-1 start for the Jets, would mean Saleh and company would ponder riding the hot hand and staying with Flacco, but Saleh made it clear that Wilson is the guy.
