Robert Saleh pointed to some throws and plays Zach Wilson made during his college days at BYU when expressing his belief in the former No. 2 overall pick as the Jets starter, and that was too much for Keith to take.
“What are we talking about? Why are we still talking about college with this kid, because he still looks like a college kid?” Keith said. “This guy has been in the league for years now.
“I literally can’t wrap my mind around why we do this with this guy. It’s almost like Tebow treatment. Tebow always seemed to get another chance. Meanwhile, other guys don’t get any shots.”
Jets fans, and the organization itself, is still clinging to hope that Wilson can become who they thought he was when they took him second overall in 2021, but Keith has seen enough. It’s time to stop talking about what he could become, as he is no longer a rookie or a recent draft pick. Wilson is simply a high draft pick that turned out to be a disappointment.
“We’re still talking this kid up? He’s cheeks!” Keith said. “He’s in his third year in the league! He’s not supposed to have the same issues he had three years ago!
“You can’t sell me on Zach Wilson…are we seriously gonna do this?”
