The Jets blew out the Dolphins in a 40-17 win on Sunday afternoon, but you never would have believed it based on how many NFL experts were picking the game to go.
Entering Sunday as 3.5-point underdogs at home, the writers and analysts of NFL.com all picked Miami to win, a clean sweep of 10 picks all saying that Gang Green’s 12-game losing streak against AFC East opponents would become 13 by the end of the day.
Those picks wound up going 0-for-10, and the Jets Twitter account reminded of it after Sunday’s victory.
A screenshot of the picks accompanied by Michael Scott from “The Office” cackling in laughter was tweeted out Sunday evening, accompanied with the caption, “when will they learn.”
Sound familiar? It should, because those analysts also unanimously picked the Browns to beat New York in Week 2, only for Joe Flacco and company to pull off a stunning comeback for their first win of the season. Two weeks later, the group picked the Steelers at home in a clean sweep, only for the Jets to pull off the upset 24-20.
So, no, they apparently do not learn.
