The Jets get another crack at the Patriots this Sunday, meaning Zach Wilson will have another opportunity to make up for his three costly interceptions in a loss to New England at home back in Week 8.
But Wilson isn’t going into Sunday’s game with redemption in mind. He is focused on his own process, and certainly doesn’t seem to care for the criticism that was thrown his way after his performance against the Pats last time out.
“I mean, I was frustrated,” Wilson told reporters on Thursday. “I still believe that nobody outside of this building knows what they're talking about.
“I don't necessarily feel like I have to prove anything, like, 'Last game didn't go great and I have to do something different this time.’”
Wilson did admit that there are some things he needs to change, like costly turnovers that stemmed from clear opportunities to throw the ball away and settle for an incompletion.
“Even in a moment of feeling like you want to make a play and have something happen, you can't just throw a ball up like I did,” Wilson said.
But Sunday will be a chance to carry the momentum from his last time on the field, when he helped New York to a stunning upset over the Bills, and to show his growth from the last time he faced the Patriots, which led to some questioning whether or not he could be the team’s franchise quarterback.
