Joe Benigno has not hid his concerns about Robert Saleh, whether him being “too nice” of a coach puts limits on his ability, but after Sunday’s win, Joe says Saleh should be in line for awards if the Jets can get into the postseason.
“You go back to the coach here for a second, and I've told him this: If this team makes the playoffs with Zach Wilson as the quarterback, what kind of coaching job? I mean, he's the Coach of the Year,” Joe said. “Tiki, is that crazy to say?”
Tiki doesn’t think that would be crazy at all, and in fact believes Saleh could win even if Gang Green doesn’t end its painfully long playoff drought.
“Given what they lost and where the expectation was,” Tiki said. “If they even get close to it, yeah, you have to consider it.”
