Another week of Zach Wilson wasn’t nearly enough to make Keith a believer.
In fact, it only left him believing that the Jets would be in a much better spot if Aaron Rodgers was under center, even if he was playing at his worst.
“If Aaron Rodgers could play, even the worst version of Aaron Rodgers from last year, they might be undefeated,” Keith said. “[Wilson] is not good on third down, they don’t punch the ball into the end zone…you don’t even have to know the numbers. We can just watch. We celebrate this kid for doing the bare minimum.”
There were admittedly some signs of improvement from Wilson, but Keith still has very little hope that the former No. 2 pick will evolve into any semblance of a productive quarterback, which means the Jets are currently wasting a season with an otherwise loaded roster.
“I’m done trashing him,” Keith said. “I’ll give him credit for two things. He is managing the game enough to give them a chance to win, and he’s not turning the ball over…to where they’re losing. He’s managing enough, and he’s not turning the ball over. He’s not winning or losing the game.”
